Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a rare pop phenomenon: A celebrity who has strayed from traditional music into pop culture and became a pop icon that will last forever and conquering everywhere. Swift left her heritage in the country genre like a second skin, and revealed that she was the most refined pop sensibility in her time. Swift was the only artist/singer who could take the popular zeitgeist out on the road. It was apparent in her early songs, particularly with regard to the neo homage towards Tim McGraw. On her album Fearless (2008), Swift showcased a writer getting to get acquainted with herself. Fearless became a worldwide hit and not just in the United States (where it earned as platinum six times for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. and many other countries. Swift's second album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the previous one, built on this momentum. It helped propel Swift to the heights of fame. In the three albums that followed -- Red 2012, 1989 2014 and Reputation 2017, her fame only grew. It was a clear indication that she was in a new pop world which she was able to fit into. She stayed at the top of pop until she reverted to her own style on her sister albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
