Flying Alaska's 2011-2012 season is a follow-up for Ariel in her training for her dream of becoming a pilot. She eventually earns her pilot's license in April of 2012. She is in charge of managing her family's business after her father retires. Alaskans have plenty of concern about suicide rates for teenagers as they have a seven-fold higher rate than the their national average. Ariel co-founded a charity called Popping Bubbles, where she informs young people of the importance of finding goals in life, and following your dreams rather than giving in to depression.
