Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg was raised in Wellington and made her stage debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played the character of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best supporting Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 in 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for portraying the bright and curious child of Holly Hunter's leading part on the film The Piano. After responding to a call for auditions, she was able to audition at age nine years old, with no acting experience before that, she won Flora McGrath's part. Flora was the daughter of an Scottish pianist, who was deaf. The couple relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to get married. In her teens she emigrated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin was Jane Eyre's main character when she was an teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and the main role of Jane Eyre in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997, she played the queen of Spain in a less prominent role. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as her character of the polexia Aphrodisa girl in Almost Famous (2000).
